I'm not worried about the cost of the thing, I'm worried about performance. How do they compare to a normal carberator?
Has anyone had any experience with these? What should I expect from this system?

The Fuel Injection swappers guide is one and another is ??? can't remember, but the author details installs of several different kinds of systems on a variety of cars and trucks. This guy thinks he is God's gift to the automotive world, but if you can get past his pride and arrogance . . . he has some good information.
Big advantage of a properly set-up FI system is that you get good vaporization and no fuel separation with high volume manifolds that otherwise idle like crap with a carby. So you get good low end torque / idle performance and good high end power as well with the same induction system. | | |

One of the people responsible for designing the holley system (Doug F) answers questions about the holley system. There are quite a few knowledgeable EFI people on this board, and they have probably covered every question you have (and some you didn't think of yet). Another person on the board (Grape Ape) has his own web site that covers a lot of EFI topics in detail - you might want to look through it. | | |
