I have never seen a picture of a truck with carpet before. I am considering buying carpet, but I was wondering if that was an option originally. What items do you need to install the floormat? Is there something that goes underneath the floormat and how is the floormat attached? The rubber floormat is held in place with a few metal "pins" that are welded to the firewall/floorboard at the upper edge of the floormat. Carper was neither standard, nor an option, not an accessory (from GM).
I do not think that any insulation was originally used but felt insulation floorpads do provide good sound deadening. Some vendors sell floorpads that you have to cut to fit and other vendors (Brothers &/or LMC ?) sell floorpads that have been cut to fit, with cut-out slots and holes (no higher cost for this convenience).
