Which of these would be the best match for this setup? I have both ignition sytems ready to go. Thanks! | | |

Street driving, I would prefer the HEI with the advance kit, hot coil and module. But with a vacuum advance, the Mallory will do fine, too.

If you don't mind changing and setting points regularly, go for it. But with the HEI you can run a wider plug gap and there's so much aftermarket performance stuff for it that it's no contest, in my book. Some of the dual point distributors have no vacuum advance - if that's the case sell it to a vintage racer. | | |

What happens to a new set of points from the moment you install them ? They start wearing. So, basically, your fire power is constantly on the decline. Granted, it is a very very small amount each time the vehicle is run, but I don't think it is as effecient as an HEI.
