Can anyone tell me how to remove the glove box lock? I bought a new one and it looks like it should just slide in from the front, but that means the old one should come out the same way and I can't figure it out

You will have to remove the glove box liner and you will see one screw on the back of the lock,it holds a sleve on the lock, remove the screw, slide the sleve off and the lock will come out of the dash.
