Okay...before I do any damage...how does the bench seat come out...LOL I want to check condition under and behind the seat.

Mine just lifted out. Bottom first and then the seat back hangs on the rear wall on some tabs.Hope this helps. The seat pedestal stays in the truck.

It’s a good Idea to lift the back out first. It has two 3 inch long 1 inch wide tabs that slips through a slot in the back sheet metal of the cab. The back also has a smaller and shorter tab that slips into a slot at the back of the bottom seat. This tab is shorter and sometimes you will find it not engaged. To remove the seats simply lift straight up on the seat back (it helps to lift both sides at the same time). Once the seat back is out there is nothing but gravity holding the bottom.

After you have the whole thing out you will see the simplest seat adjusting method you could have. The seat bottom has two short pins near its front edge, these engage matching holes in the supports on top of the gas tank frame. To move the seat forward of back, simply lift the front of the seat bottom enough to disengage the pins from the holes and slide in the direction you want to go. The seat back will follow because the tabs at thee bottom are engaged with the seat bottom and the longer tabs at the top form a sort of hinge.
