I have the window assembly out. What do I have to do to install the new seals? Looks like I have to remove the glass & drill out at least 1 rivet/pivot. Is there any tips someone can give me? Thanks. | | | | Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 1,552 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 1,552 | In order to replace the rubber seal that runs up the side of the vent window and across the bottom (when in the closed position) requires drilling out the pivot rivet and three others along the rubber seal. The replacement kits have the new rivets, as well as the rivet set, and will require you to buck the rivets (mushroom them out on one side). I have done this by myself, however you need something sturdy and stable to use a a bucking bar in order to mushroom the rivet head and hold the assembly together. It is not that difficult, although it requires patience and the correct tools. Good luck with your project. | | |
