They're in great shape except for the fact that they don't move smoothly or allow for the full range of motion. I'd like to disassemble, clean and lubericate them but don't see how. The Chevrolet shop manual talks about removing the entire assemblies but that's as far as it goes. I used a product called Fluid Film to loosen it up and it did wonders. From what I could see, there are two sets of ball bearings on the sides and inside the vertical load is taken up by wheels about 1" around and 1/2" wide.
