They are manufacturing aids, to keep the drums in place while the rear ends are shipped to the assembly plant. Unless you're planning to drive the truck without the wheels in place, they're not needed. Take 'em off and toss 'em. Brake drum gaskets? Dunno. Never heard of 'em. Joe | | |

Are these the thin gaskets that are put in place on the rear axles and then you install the rear drums? I just recently installed these when I rebuilt my (my trucks) rear end.

About as thick as wax paper. The only thing I could figure was that it was intended to keep the drum from rusting to the axle. I guess this is something you have to make? | | |
