I am looking for suggestions as to which seat(s) may fit well in my 51 1/2 ton,"Frankenbolt". I have a friend that put PT Cruiser seats in his 51 "burb" and they were a perfect fit. Anyone know of any other matches ? Thanks.http://www.geocities.com/pickinjim1/Jims51truck.html

My friend put a set of buckets in, from a Toyota, I think a Camry. He mounted rails on top of the built in seat pan and they really worked out nice.

I also am a lookin, I took the bench seat out of my 93 suburban to try in my 51 pickup, it goes and leaves 1/4 inch between seat and door it's 58", brackets work as my seat frame and skirt were removed leaving me a fairly flat floor.If I would want to upholster doors in the future I couldn't. 54" would be great. I have heard a 94-96 Caprice seat is in this range but don't have any to measure ??? Next trip to the yard will try to find one. Zeke

Jimmyjeep, I have a 55.1 which is very similar to your 52. I used the front seats of a 2000 Buick LeSabre. It's actually two seats and when the center armrest is raised, it becomes a bench seat. These are power seats, have lumbar support adjustment, a seat warmer if you want to wire it up, center armrest with cupholders and storage, and most importantly for me, has the shoulder straps as part of the seat itself. They fit in perfectly. The trickiest part was fabricating a support frame (out of angle iron and flat plate) because the mount points are a little funky.

I know the purists will argue the removal of the stock bench seat but it is hard to beat the functionality and comfort of this set-up.

Thanks gang. Its a head spinnin' task to try to outfit the truck in style, when there is no good starting point! Your input is a great help....but it always is!

I put late model S10 seats in my 55 2nd series,perfect fit.They are the 60-40 seats with a fold down console and arm rest in the center.
