I'm moving 3000 miles and it's impractical to take the truck along, so I'm sadly giving up on the project. The photo is from when I bought it. The cab is off the truck on a wheeled base and the sheet metal repairs are complete (4 cab corners, lower door hinge mounts, one step, windshield frame top, misc patching). Engine turns over and compression check is 65-110-100-120-85-115. With oil in the 2 low cylinders, they are 80 and 85, so maybe a head job would suffice? It's been off the road since '91. Major missing parts are a rear bumper and the seat. The doors and the 4 fenders are repairable. The hood, tailgate and bed side steps, front grill parts, windshield and back window are all good to go except for paint. My plan was to buy new bed sides and front, new bed wood and supports. I have many new or restored parts (master cylinder, wipers, gas tank sending unit, inside cab kick panels, hood latch, taillights). It's currently disassembled (cab totally stripped of parts) and most have their fasteners in an attached bag. I have hundreds of photos I can provide that will be useful in putting it back together.
Sorry to hear you're having to part with your truck Kurt. I hope there's a fellow 'Bolter that's in need of a project that can give your truck a new home.
Best of luck with your sale!
