I was wanting to get my #40217 fuel pump rebuilt. I put a NOS rebuilt one on my truck 4 years ago, but it failed. I think a newly rebuilt one may last longer. Any sources that I could send it to to get rebuilt?

Send it to Then and Now Automotive. They rebuilt mine 10,000 miles ago. This was after two brand new China specials failed immediately.

I purchased a rebuild kit from Then and Now Automotive for mine.

I watched their video about how to do the rebuild and it is working fine.

It was not a difficult or very time consuming job.

Then and Now (a.k.a. The Antique Auto Parts Cellar) is THE place for either kits or refurbishing. Your choice as to the correct path for you.

X2 (or is it X7 wink ) on Then and Now. I've rebuilt one fuel pump and one fuel/vacuum pump with kits from them. On the fuel/vac pump, I queried them by phone on the correct pump and they pointed out that there were two styles of the particular pump I have. That kit arrived short of a couple of small check valve gaskets and they sent them right away so I could complete the rebuild. An excellent outfit. thumbs_up thumbs_up

If you know how to operate a screwdriver, you can rebuild one yourself.

When you call Then and Now (781-335-8860], ask for Tom and they only answer the phone on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
