OK, long story short...

I started the process of rebuilding the manual transmission on my 1960 Chevy Apache back in September of 2025. I pulled the trans, ordered and installed a new clutch after cutting the original flywheel. After a long, hard ordeal of finding all of the needed parts, 13 months later I am ready to install the trans back. I get under the truck, and the new Clutch Fork Boot (Bought at LMC) looks like it is 20 years old!! Has anyone found a better replacement Clutch Fork Boot???

The repop rubber parts of today leave much to be desired IMHO. The rubber basically crumbles apart after a short period of time sadly.

The original part is listed as GM# 3765360 and fits your application, as well as spanning all the way up into the 1990's on various truck models.

You can still order an original GM# 3765360 from GMPartsGiant.com. Currently listed as on sale for under $30 plus shipping. Don't be concerned about their vehicle application listing for "1985-90". It's the same part/part number used all the way back to 1960 (see Master Parts Book screenshot below).

Hope this helps. wink

You might check out the one that Bob’s Automobilia offers, it’s not identical to what you have, I believe it’s leather ( per Buick specifications) I just installed one on my ‘52 Buick project and it looks like it would work for your application, too. Just a thought.

I cannot find a rubber boot for my 235 bellhousing. Its a smaller cutout than the BH for the SBC.
Thats the one link you posted Dan?

BD - I relooked at the snapshot I posted and it shows the 1956-59 truck 6 cylinder clutch fork application boot to be GM# 5759349. It is different than the one Bornco needs as the two trucks use different bell housings.

Unfortunately yours is not currently an active GM# (rescinded back in 1973 with no replacement) and they are no NOS pieces being offered anywhere I could find. I could not actually find any repops being offered either. frown
