AC Delco part # D111 GM# 12338947 will not fit in my 1962 235 motor I have never had this issue before. The slot for the excentric screw is to far away from the bottom contact. Are there 2 different distributers?

I ran across the same issue with my ‘59 235. There are two different distributors but not for the same year. Early ones (short cap) were for the low pressure 216 and same year 235’s. Later ones (tall cap) were for the high pressure 235 and 261’s.

One of our own ‘bolters “Pre ‘68 Dave” is an expert on these Stovebolt engines and has a website that show the differences in the distributors thru the years these engines were made.
Here is that list.

Chris - There should be a distributor number on yours stamped on the breaker plate. If you post that, we can try and figure out which one you have and hopefully help find you the points you need. wink
