Went to start my 51 for the first time in too long today. Promptly broke the middle out the visor or socket. I guess it seized up a bit and I went too hard.
My visor itself is good. Just need the metal bits. Would prefer old GM to new aftermarket.
I know where there's one in CA, but it's for a later model (62-66) Chevy truck. I assume you need the left side, which I believe is what that one is. If you want it, it may work (the difference may just be color) and it's yours for the price of postage. I'll be where it is next week.

Nathan - Lots of our regular vendors offer repops listed to fit 1947-53. Jim Carter has UPV131, while Classic Parts offers 25-011 for a lesser price.
I thought I had one (something I picked up at an antique store cheap), but in checking the part number, it turns out it's listed for a 1954 model year. Different number than the 1947-53 original part number. No idea if there is a difference in the mounting to the earlier part as I haven't tried to compare it to the one installed in my truck. Perhaps someone knows if there really is a difference, or if it might work in the earlier trucks?

I saw one on eBay listed as 54-55 and figured seller was wrong. Interesting.
Mounting bolt pattern looks the same. Maybe the spring loaded portion was a new feature? Or the length?

Yep, on second look at Dan's and mine, they're definitely different.The angle of the pivot point is likely different as well. Good luck on your search.
