We have a friend who uses Instagram instead of Facebook and other media. How tricky is it? Anything to watch out for? Possibly more spam emails?

I've only just gotten into FB (mostly for the Marketplace) and still muddling through there.

It's a lot simpler than Facebook. There are no groups, no marketplace, no dating, etc. You sign up, and either post content, or don't. You choose accounts to follow so that when you get on there to scroll, you see their stuff (in theory). After years on there with diverse interests, I follow more accounts than I could possibly see all the content from. If someone comes to mind, I can search them and see what they've posted that I've missed. Of course there are suggested posts and ads and such that are presented to you that you didn't request. Facebook is much much (MUCH!) worse in that regard. I think about deleting Facebook except I like the hobby groups and have started to use Marketplace more recently.

Well, that's pretty cool. Thanks for sending your link. At least I could x-out and see what you have in the "library" but in order to look further, I guess we have to sign up.

I still haven't learned much about Facebook. I think John mostly uses it for MarketPlace. He also had to do a F page for his boss. I've hunted around a bit for local (school, churches, gov., clubs, shopping, etc.) F pages to help keep up with what's going on here. Admittedly, it's much better than searching and ending up with a lot of unrelated results.
