When converting from a generator to an alternator charging system, it's popular to use a Delco 10-SI alternator that has been set up to use only one connection- - - - -the big charging wire that connects directly to the battery, the starter cable connector, or the ammeter. Unfortunately, these alternators have gotten pretty E$$$$PENSIVE when they're purchased at a local parts store.
