I haven’t posted in a while, but I just started getting back into this truck after relocating. Right now im going with Ipe for the decking, and well, I had some tool boxes probably a few other things as well. Will post some more pics later on.
Nice job on the deck frame. Couldn’t help to notice the Detroit Diesel placard on the hood. Nice!

Update, got the Ipe wood down, (1st photo) milled and epoxied stainless studs on the underside. Cut up a bunch of aluminum plates that catch the channel almost like a step clamp. I figured it would be much easier than drilling through the channel itself. 2nd photo I treated it with “Cabot Australian Timber Oil.”
Got all the decking bolted down today in the 100 degree Florida weather. I also added a clearance lights on the side. The next thing I may end up doing later on is some sort of bolt on grate for the headache rack. But for now, I’m gonna get tags on it shortly and take some more photos.
Is there another angle at the joint between the third and fourth boards in from the side? In other words, does the rear of the bed frame have five sides and not three? Or is that just a trick of the camera in the first picture?

I see the bolts underneath, but not visible on top. How did you secure the boards?
Yes, theyre stainless carriage bolts that are epoxied in. We used the router to make the T slot and the aluminum plates capture the C channel, think of it like a step clamp.
