This is my last Cruisin the Coast video. It shows non stop classics passing by. Some trucks! There are a lot of very long videos on YouTube for those with lots of time.

Very nice, Wayne. My grand daughter has the 66 c10 signed
up for the Melbourne Beach Christmas Parade this coming weekend. Her & her 3 kids will ride in the back tossing out candy for the kids along the route.
It all worked out well last year, hopefully it'll go well this year too. Hopefully we'll get a few nice clear photos like yours. A lot of the ones taken last year were in the wrong format for posting & I wasn't smart enough to fix them.

Now that looks like FUN, "Little Blue " doing what he does best. Nelda looks like she's enjoying herself... grin

Rob, be sure to get plenty of pictures...

Went to a cruise in today in DeLand, FL. Temps here are in the low 80's, so I drove my '96 Mustang convertible. Several Stovebolts in attendance.

Wayne, looks like a good turnout. While I'm partial to the Blue '59 there were some fine Trucks on hand ( and a Convertible Mustang)...

I went to Downtown DeLand cruise in this past Saturday. A local video guy Drive by cars by Alan took this as I was coming into the show.

Got to go to my first car show/fundraiser for missions at Crosspoint church here in Gulfport this year. A few trucks there and a few I did not get pictures of. The picture of the silver truck with what looks log large rivets or holes and anti skid plate was all manually painter on with rustoleum paint and covered with clear. Nice unique idea on his vehicle.

A couple of weeks ago I was visiting the grandbabies in Houston. There was a nice show in Kingwood town square had about 100 vehicles all types. I was so busy keeping up the 2 and 5 yr old that I did not have time to take any pictures. 🫢oh well!!

This weekend we were up at SMN for the Southern Bolters Jamboree. I have posted some on the thread Townsend pictures but am posting some here. I’m currently working on my 49 Suburban so naturally had to get some pictures/ideas.

Craig ... Roger that. cool I guess it'll just be me and Ole Charlie -- alone and unafraid!

But speaking of being out and about ... last week, I had to run to the post office so I took the bus. smile Cruised the square in Scottsboro. smile smile

Yeah, its not a Stovebolt .... but it *does* have a Stovebolt sticker on the back.

Hey Southern truck. What area would you recommend to stay for someone coming from the east (Florida) Probably try to rent a small vrbo house. I’m not at all familiar with that area except to drive by on I 10. Thanks in advance. RB

If you could get in Gulfport you would be kind of in the middle of the whole thing, with Biloxi and ocean springs to the east and Pass Christian, Long Beach bay St. Louis to the west. The central check in location for Cruisin is at Gulfport. If you do come keep in touch, I’ll be glad to give you other pointers. Bay St. Louis, Pass Christian or ocean springs are smaller towns with quaint atmosphere.

Seriously considering a visit. Not with the '51 (love to take it) but with the 340 Duster that needs a road trip. I've had it since early 1971, put a little over 100k miles on it and never had it out of Arkansas. New tires last October with about 100 miles on em now. It needs a good drive and all I need to do now is replace the clutch, load and go.

Now that the decisions have been made, I started checking on lodging on the main drag, one that's looking at the beach a couple weeks ago and man, it's hard to find a room! We've got a reservation starting the 4th with a checkout on the 8th at 1768 Beach Blvd, Biloxi, an old Days Inn.

Since this is the first half of the Cruise, I'm wondering if we'll miss the good part, the last half. But, since we haven't attended before, how would we know?

Donald, your comments above are noted, thoughts on the location I mentioned? My Bride will have to visit the Pink Pony at least once I'm sure so there's that.

Moparguy, at this point where ever you can get a hotel might have to do this time. You may try a Hampton inn at 400 beach drive. It is new and may not have booked out yet. Another suggestion is look along the I-10 exits which is about 8 miles north of along the coast line(not very far). If you plan to register the best days are thurs, fri, and sat. that way you get your card stamped at the locations and have about 30 chances to win $500. If you just looking around for the first time, any day starting with Monday the cars will come in to the registration located to pick up their packets at the Gulfport harbor. Let me know other questions.

Thanks, Southerntruck. If we can make it work we’ll definitely be in touch. Just curious, do you think Mobile is too far out for a first timer just wanting to check things out? Edit: Just answered my own question. About 75 mi from Mobile to Gulfport.

Quick question, from videos only, my impression is traffic for most any A to B point on the main cruise routes is going to be a challenge. Is that indeed the case or will there be predicable times to travel when there's not a parade of precious metal traveling along Hwy 90? We've been in the area several times over the past few decades but I don't ever recall just driving around.

Some will be congested, for example if you were going to just drive thru Biloxi to ocean springs that would be tough some times. For example if you jump to pass rd a couple blocks parallels the beach completely different. I live on the northern edge of Gulfport and go to both of those locations without hitting hwy 90 but going to bay St. Louis or pass Christian is easy on 90. They all get a little backed up at the check in for cruisers once you get in line to go in a venue if you bringing a vehicle.

My plan was to drive the 66 C10 and be a spectator. Mom is putting up some resistance to that plan, plus she’s telling me we have to be in Atlanta for a family affair over the 9 thru 11 weekend. So even if I can make it work ,it’ll be for the first few days.

Honestly the spectator the first time for several days is probably not a bad idea and cut it off when you need to. You could just go to a different venue each day and you just park where you can. Or you can park either your c 10 or the wife’s car at the beach with a couple of lawn chairs and watch the classics go by. Hit the casino at night!🤣😂

We’re booked in a small place in Ocean Springs for Monday PM to Thursday AM. Since we’re heading to Atlanta afterwards, we’re taking mom’s car. Thanks for the advice & local info ST. It helped.

Good deal, so both Monday and Tuesday all vehicles registered have to come to Gulfport harbor to pick up their registration packet. A lot it them will park and stay in there but you can’t you just have to get close as you can to park. Bring a couple chairs and find a shade tree and watch them parade by. Wednesday you could go to downtown ocean springs, look on the website and find the maps and schedules of bands playing etc. The street is Washington Ave. let me know if you have any other questions. Too bad you won’t be here for Sunday Gulfport’s View the Cruise. They block off the whole downtown for classics only about 5-6 square blocks cars parked everywhere.

I believe the donut shop is within walking distance of where we’re staying. We’ll definitely check it out. The veiw the cruise, is that on the 4th or the following Sunday?

It is on the 4th. I will PM my number in case you have other last minute questions while at Cruisin or maybe we can meet up somewhere. I will be picking my packet up in the Tuesday group and usually hang there and have lunch somewhere in downtown Gulfport.
