I have a 1952 3100 that did not have any headliner in it when I got the cab. I had the rear retaining channel and a round rod that was curved to fit the curve of the cab roof. It has a hole on each about 3/4 of on inch flattened end or the round rod that appears to fit in the sheet metal above the door. I had assumed that this would be on the inside of the cab and support the two pieces of the headliner. I cannot figure out how it would do this as the curved bar would have to be on the inside of the headliner and the ABS headliner has no hole for the screw. Is this round rod an original support or has someone given me a home made center support? Any help would be appreciated.
Not an original headliner bow .the original should have a Chanel on each side were the headliner from each side slides in .I will see if I can find a picture.

Pat, here's a suggestion: before you install the headliner, get some of the foil backed fiberglass insulation HVAC folks use on ductwork. Add a layer of that between the roof and the headliner. Use double sided tape to hold it as you install the headliner or you can use a bit of high quality masking tape (3M). On the sides, you can use a double layer of insulation usually. There is more room over there. It will reduce temperature plus it will greatly reduce noise up there. Also if you use the fiberboard type headliner, it seems to help keep it from changing shape over time. Good luck!

I used dynamat on my roof to deaden the sound a bit. Any similar product will help with sound. Especially with rain, which will get loud. I’ve also added the foil bubble wrap as a secondary. I’ve deadened the sound and created a heat barrier since Texas can get slightly warm in the summer.
I got the correct bow and the headliner went in with just a few hick-ups. I wound up putting a #4 sheet metal screw through the floating bow on each side into the lip that the wind lace is attached to and also had to cut off about a quarter of a inch on the forward edge of the rear ABS portion of the head liner and also about 1/8 inch on each side to get it to fit. It did take four hands to get it into place. Not an easy task but glad to have it done.
