Multiple questions here: I have a 1950 3100 with stock frame. I am looking to change the old stock front suspension to a Mustang II ifs with coil overs, power steering. The questions I have are what recommendations does anyone have for buying a kit to do this? Any pictures of what you all might have done? I also plan on using a remote Volvo electric power steering pump. Would I look for a kit with manual or power steering unit? Replacing the engine at the same time, SBC, do these kits account for engine mounts? Also considering the trans at the same time, want to have overdrive so I have considered a 700r4 vs. 200r4. Sounds like the 200r4 would be the simplest swap with no mods, but will the 700 fit without tunnel mods? I see it maybe a different length so the driveshaft might need modified?
Thanks for any feedback

Have you asked in the 47.5-55.5 GM Trucks Technical Info and Swap Meet group on Facebook? I imagine you'll get a decent response and good information there.

dogdaddy - It's easy to search through Stovebolt for existing threads on your many topics. For example, using our Search Link, entering "Chevy AD Mustang II front suspension conversion" leads to an extensive list of existing threads you can read on the topic. If that doesn't cover a specific item like your electric power steering pump sub-topic, you can search that too. Same thing goes for the SBC and automatic transmission swap.

I would note that since we try to keep threads to a particular topic, searching for each of these sub-topics individually will get you the best results in finding existing threads with info to help answer your questions. wink

One thing to be aware of, because it is not obvious/well documented, is that the "normal ride height" MII conversion kits actually lower the truck 4"-6".

They are normal for MII, but the way they attach to the frame results in significant lowering.

That is the look a lot of people doing the swap want, but you should be aware before you start.

Maybe it's just me but that sounds like something they might want to point out.
