on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Sep 2022 Posts: 86 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2022 Posts: 86 | Good afternoon fellow Bolters . I have a 1953 Chevy 1/2 ton 3100 Panel Truck and im wondering where the best place to go to buy a Complete new Wiring harness for it. I will be running a 6 cyl. 235 engine from a 1954 Chevy Panel truck. I would like to convert to 12 Volt system using my original Starter and Generator ,im assuming they are both 6 volt, will be adding turn signals front and rear. possibly adding another taillight on the right side rear barn door, will add a radio and CB Radio ,will also add a few lights inside toward the back. Im thinking maybe a Painless Wiring Kit ?? Has anyone here ever converted to 12 volt and adding the stuff id like to add ? Im thinking they have ,but it would be nice to hear from someone whos acually done this to their Panel truck. 1953 Chevrolet 1/2 ton Panel Truck 3100 4800 LB. maximum rating, 85hp at 3300 RPM | | | | | Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 4,215 Moderator | | Moderator Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 4,215 | I did very much the same as your intention. I also have a 1953 3100 panel, six cylinder 261, also original generator and starter, signal lights on all 4 corners. 12 volt. I just got the harness from Jim Carter, they have various different types, you need to tell them what you have exactly. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2022 Posts: 86 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2022 Posts: 86 | Thanks Leo. Glad to see you got your Panel truck back. Any more pics. of it ? Ive got alot of welding in floor patch panels and cab area welding panels ,and fender patches and so on to do on mine. Wont be able to work on mine any untill this coming Winter. Too much outside work to do this summer. I did just get a 1950 Chevy 1/2 ton Panel Truck for a parts truck this month. 1953 Chevrolet 1/2 ton Panel Truck 3100 4800 LB. maximum rating, 85hp at 3300 RPM | | | | | Joined: Jun 2001 Posts: 793 Bondo Artiste | | Bondo Artiste Joined: Jun 2001 Posts: 793 | I'm running the YNZ harness in my 49 Suburban. Perfect harness in everyway, and easy to install. I highly recommend them. They will custom make it to your needs. Mine is stock, with added turn signals, 12 volt. https://www.ynzyesterdaysparts.com

If someone decides to contact them, I'd reach out via the phone number to be sure what the web site lists is still being offered and confirm prices, etc. before placing an on-line order. Better safe than sorry.
