This video is 16 minutes long. You’ll see me assemble a non-world class T5 transmission. I made it for people who enjoy watching informative videos for the sake of education. It is not meant to be an instructional video.

I watched it. Excellent work.

YouTube actually lacked a decent, complete rebuild of a NWC T5.

Hey Lugnutz - I’m gonna have to tackle this job myself soon….inspect/rebuild of a NWC S10 T5. It will certainly need the input shaft swap, not sure if it needs a full rebuild or now.

Anyway, it looks in the video like you did the entire assembly of the tranny WITHOUT using a hydraulic shop press. Is the press needed for the ~disassembly~ phase on a full rebuild?

The short answer is yes. You need a shop press to carefully
1. remove the countershaft from the case.
2. remove the 3/4 slider hub
3. remove 5th and 1st gear together with the bearing between them.
4. Front countershaft bearing from the case and the rear countershaft bearing from the countershaft.
I wrote a DIY showing every step. LINK HERE

Fantastic Video, not to nitpick but the information was interesting enough that the background music was not needed.
