Curious what difference is - besides possibly timing gear material.
What about engine mounts ?
What else is different between car & truck 235 ?

Easiest possible way I think to answer your basic questions is to compare the 235 engine specifications between the 1960 Chevrolet Passenger Car Data PDF and the 235 specs from the 1960 Chevrolet Truck Data PDF.

Biggest basic differences I saw were the Passenger car 235 uses two front engine side to frame mounts and a single rear mount, while the Truck 235 uses a single front and dual rear (bell housing) mounts. I believe both base versions used the fiber reinforced plastic tooth cam gear, but truck 235's used mechanical lifters/cams and passenger car 235's used mechanical lifters/cams only for 3 speed and OD equipped cars. Cars with Powerglide's used hydraulic lifters/cams as standard equipment.

You will have other differences in component stuff like air cleaners, draft tubes and some other bits and pieces that you can identify in a Chevy Master Parts Book covering the year, but for the most parts truck pieces will swap over to a car 235 just fine.

Note - The car 235 front engine mounts isn't a big deal as you can convert that front timing cover (see this Legacy Tech Tip ) to work with the truck style single front engine mount and transferring the truck bell housing to a passenger car 235 will make the engine install very easy.
