I wanted a line drawing of my '48 that I could put on T-shirts, business cards, coffee mugs, etc. So I scanned the right truck which was in the Chevrolet Restoration Guide. (First pic)

I then used PhotoShop on it. (It wasn't a molecule drawing program as first stated.)

I deleted things my truck doesn't have and added things it has, like the flatbed, corner windows, spare tire, etc. The result was pretty good, I think. The 2nd pic shows what I put on T-shirts for the family. The 3rd pic shows what went on the cards and the coffee mugs.

I have made several copies for our great grandson to color just like his mother did years and years ago.

I think this may better belong in a more permanent forum then the Spoon Wally. It's a great idea that may inspire others to do something similar.

Suggestion dropped in the HQ suggestion box for consideration. grin

Agreed with Dan. I think the Bus is the best place for it. So, here it is.

We want to try this ourselves. grin

Thanks all.

My only thought was to have the added spare tire on the outside of the bed rail. Not sure how the tire could be on the inside of the rail and down past the bed surface? My change in the first picture and I put the spare on the passenger side in the second picture. Hope this doesn't offend anyone - not meant to.

Cool stuff, Wally. My only suggestion would be to add another circle inside the wheels to represent hubcaps. Kinda like the first attachment.

Also I found the second online. Was thinking of doing a metal cutout of it.

About the spare tire. 33 Years ago, I cut a rectangular hole in the bed for the spare tire. It was big enough to accept the tire but not so big to let it fall completely through. The tire just touched the "spray guard" that's part of the running board. The tire does clear the frame. These pics show it the best I can.

I think it makes my truck look jaunty.

OK - Good to see a photo of how you carried the spare. Your line drawing makes perfect sense.
