When I tried to order a bottle, system tries to sub part# 80019…aviation sealer. The one parts guy says it looks discontinued. The other place can supposedly get me a bottle, but only one bottle.

If this is true, and Super 300 is no more….is the Aviation stuff a reasonable facsimile? Been a long time since I’ve used it. Seems like I recall it pretty similar color and smell but a bit thinner in viscosity. That sound about right?

SBX performance has some in stock.

Mr Google says that it has not been officially discontinued.

I called Permatex but had to leave a message. 877-376-2839

I'll report back when they contact me.

I just received a call from Don at Permatex.

He confirmed that Super 300 Form-A-Gasket has been discontinued. The "better equivalent" (his words) is Permatex Aviation Form-A-Gasket Sealant Liquid part # 80017 or 80019.

The difference between those two part numbers is the size of the container.

Curious if anyone here can speak to the differences in the products in use.

I've been using the Permatex Aviation 80019. It's not thick. I know when I used it on my fuel pump fittings, it ran a little. Looks OK now. I did pick up a bottle of Super 300 from my local Advance Auto/Carquest today (only one bottle left), but haven't opened it up yet. Not sure where in Missouri you live, but maybe check out their website to see if your local store has one in stock or click on the "In Stock Nearby" link to see the closest store that might have a bottle.

This stuff lasts forever, I have had the same container for years. It works fantastic, I just wonder if the new and improved stuff is half as good as the original...

I'm not too worried. Permatex has always made top quality products. I've never had a complaint about any of the ones I've used.
