I ordered new park brake cables from The Filling Station. They don't come with the clevis and the clevis they sell (see picture) indicates it fits the 1941-1950.
Well, the ones from the factory are not slotted so you need to cut the cable to get them off. No problem scrapping the old cables, but the clevis is too narrow to fit over the ferrel crimped onto the new cable at the end as a stop for that clevis. I don't see a reason why the clevis sold on TFS would not work other than it being wider/thicker than the factory originals. I can't be sure because I don't have one and they are currently out of stock everywhere.
Has anyone had this issue and what was the solution?

I have a '46 and my brake cable did not come with the clevis. I'm using the one you pictured above.

The third picture is the old style but slotted. Did you slot them yourself? I thought about doing that but I would also need to spread it to fit the larger ferrel on the new cables.

Yes. I cut them off before throwing the cables away. I was thinking if the new ones didn't work, I could try to make the old ones work and maybe have a friend tack weld the opening or something like that.

You could also narrow the ferrule on the cable a bit to fit into the clevis. I'd do that instead of spreading the clevis.

Good idea Kevin. That's what I did and have now installed the drums. Now to tear apart the front. Gonna need some work on the king pins there too.
