I have a 52 Chevy PU, 216 stock drivetrain. Left it stock for 15 years.I have aT5 trans to put in it. I need shift linkage for it that will clear a stock bench seat. Can anyone suggest where I might call or look for that item. Also, a driveshaft to hook up to an open rear axle from a 54 GMC truck. Thank you for any and all suggestions.

Welcome back Mike. wink It's been a little spell since you last posted.

Have you searched through Stovebolt using the Search the Site link? Lots of T5 related threads talk about what folks have used for shifters and driveshafts? Be on the lookout for threads written or replied to by Bolter Lugnutz as he is considered a pretty much resident expert on the T5's.

You can also read this older Legacy Tech Tip T5 Tranny for a starting point. Others should be along to chime in here soon. smile

T5's have multiple positions for the shift tower. Figure out where the best place to have your shifter come out on your floor, then find the T5 version that is the closest. The 1995 S10 T5 has the shifter in a more forward position than a Ford T5.

Mike,
The straightest path to get a working T5 in your truck is not all that hard.
Find an S10 T5 from 1988 or earlier (if you want a working cable driven speedometer).
Find an S10 T5 from 1993 or earlier if you have a GPS speedo or non-cable style speedo.
Use the bell and pressure plate you already have as long as the bolt holes match the T5 Muncie bolt pattern. An S10 T5 has 14 splines on the input shaft and clutch disc choice will matter on what you decide to do about the factory S10 T5 input shaft. You can keep it or swap it for a different one with 10 splines. More on that later.
An S10 T5 from 1994 or newer will have a FORD bolt pattern and will likely need an adapter plate.
Make sure the T5 OD gear is a good match for you rear axle gear. Ask questions about this if you’re not sure. A bad match will result in poor drivability.
Find Denny’s Driveshafts on the internet for worksheets that show how to measure what length driveshaft you’ll need.
Jay

Mike, can you post pictures of the T5 you have, and give the tag number (1352-XXX)?

The S-10 tail housing shifter location puts the shifter here in an AD truck with a stock bench seat. [PICTURE] The stick I used came off a junk SM-420 four speed and was welded onto the T5 shifter mechanism.
