Looking at a few different rocker panels online. Noticed that some have a vertical line or I think it's a slight offset in the panel right where the hinge pillar or lock pillar would be welded to it. Most that you see do not have that feature. Seems like it's there to help locate either pillar to the correct location. Good idea, but did the original rocker panels have that, mine are to rusted away at those locations to tell. Specifically the Dynacorn part no. 1104E has these offsets. But like I mentioned, most of these panels you see don't have them.
Hope what I'm asking makes sense. Appreciate any comments in return.
Thanks, Tom (1950 3800 1 ton)

If I'm recalling correctly, there was no offset where the weld to the A and B pillars are on the originals. Also none on the rockers I used. Which I got from RockAuto, I believe Sherman branded. Those were a LOT cheaper than the Dynacorn ones, although RockAuto no longer offers them. Jim Carter is out of stock on the rights, but it's listed at $47 vs $72 for Dynacorn's. You have to locate them using the FAM dimensions. Those were a LOT cheaper than the Dynacorn ones. The originals also don't have the hole just forward and aft of the crease shown in the picture of Dynacorn's offering.

OK, here's what I discovered yesterday. Got to look at a very well preserved cab thru a friend of a friend type situation. Looked underneath at the rocker panels on both sides, and yes they had the offset stamped into the panel at the lock & hinge pillar locations. The offset was not real pronounced, but defiantly there. So I assume the original rocker panels used to build these trucks did include that slight offset feature. Again, the cab I looked at was an all original cab (wish I had that one). Most of the panels available today do not have that feature, but it's great to have them available vs. nothing.
Thanks for reading my post.
