Does anyone have experience with running Wheel Vintiques 12 Series Smoothie Wheels 16x6 with 4-inch backspace on a 3100? The price on these wheels is the best deal I've found. Wheelsmith offers custom made with 3.50 backspace, but they're over twice the price of the wheels offered by Vintiques.
George - What year 3100 AD are you inquiring about? It also helps to know what type/size tire you are planning on running? A tall-skinny tire may fit okay, where a shorter/wider profile might cause interference with steering components (outer tie rod ends).

I'm going with Michelin 215/85R16 tires. My research so far looks like the Wheel Vintiques 12 Series Smoothie Wheels 16x6 with 4.25" center bore, 6x5.5 bolt pattern are as close to the stock appearance as I can get.
Thanks for the answers and hope some fellow Bolters will offer some feedback or suggestions to better answer your question.

I have Wheelsmith 16x6 smoothies with 3.5" backspace on my 1950 3100. I am extremely happy with the wheels. Top quality. If I were ordering again, Id order 5" rims instead to be closer to the original size.
The original wheels had 3" backspace and 0" offset. 4" backspace might interfere with steering components.
