Coast/accelerate, and get a puff of blue smoke- - - -sloppy valve guides and/or bad intake valve stem seals. That same leak test adapter can be used to change valve seals while you hold the valves closed with air pressure- - - -just be sure not to release the pressure with the valve springs removed! Dropping a valve into a cylinder usually means removing the head. Another way to do a "head on" valve seal replacement is to pack the cylinder full of 1/4" nylon rope through the spark plug hole, push the piston tight against the packing, and change the seals.
