I'm adding Vintage A/C to my '56 3100 235 truck next month and need a dual grove pulley. I've started my search but not having much luck. I've posted in the "Parts Wanted" board.

The easy way (assuming your a/c compressor has 2 sheaves) is to run one belt around the crankshaft pulley, the water pump pulley and one of the sheaves on the compressor . Then run another belt from the other compressor sheave to the alternator.

I have a similar pulley setup that Bill describes. I have a power steering pump and an alternator. I used a double row power steering pump pulley, and a single row alternator pulley.

I have a future project that will have A/C, Power Steering and an Alternator. I am adding a Harmonic Balancer from a 292, it has a 2 row pulley, also available with a 3 row. It needs to shortened a bit to match the 235 dimensions. This will give you the additional pulleys your after.

I used a bracket from POL (Performance On Line). There are several brackets available from Alan Groves Products.

Trying to drive an AC compressor off the alternator slows it down so much that you won't get much cooling below highway speed. Use a 2 sheave harmonic balancer for a 250 six, and drive the compressor with the front crankshaft sheave. The balancer snout usually needs to be shortened about 1/4" to make the rear sheave line up with the water pump and the alternator. Machine the balancer OD seal surface back the same amount as you shorten the length.
