Convenient for the Mids, but it will be a loooooong, joyless busride home for the kaydets I don't remember the conversion to JST at this time ... We left Camp Foster 33 years ago this month. Yikes. Craig -- Will you keep my seat warm? I may be a little late getting to the game today ... North Alabama Electrical Cooperative just told us they will be shutting off our power (um, ALL of Skyline) to do a critical component replacement that is scheduled to last into game time.

West Point
Hail, Alma Mater dear, To us be ever near, Help us thy motto bear Through all the years. Let duty be well performed, Honor be e'er untarned, Country be ever armed, West Point, by thee.
Guide us, thy sons, aright, Teach us by day, by night, To keep thine honor bright, For thee to fight. When we depart from thee, Serving on land or sea, May we still loyal be, West Point, to thee.
And when our work is done, Our course on earth is run, May it be said, 'Well Done; Be Thou At Peace.' E'er may that line of gray Increase from day to day, Live, serve, and die, we pray, West Point, for thee.
Okay, whatever. That is just ...forgettable.
Here's Navy's: (My class' version, not the current woke/dei crap version). It happens to be the most utterly coolest alma mater EVUR:
Now college MEN From sea to sea May sing of colors true. But who has better right than we To hoist a symbol hue? For sailor MEN In battle fair Since fighting days of old Have proved the Sailors' right to wear The NAVY BLUE and GOLD.
Four years together by the Bay Whеre Severn joins thе tide Then by the Service called away We're scattered far and wide But still when two or three shall meet And old tales be retold From low to highest in the Fleet We'll pledge the Blue and Gold!
I may be a Marine (By the grace of God), But my blood runs Blue and Gold.
Beat ARMY!!!

Are there any other rivalries where the stadium goes silent in respect for both sides to sing their alma maters?

About the Heisman Trophy runner up ...I'm not sure who these punks are, but Im pretty sure that being Vanderbilt's star QB in 2025 will be the pinnacle of his otherwise mundane and unimpactful life. Unlike a true star like Blake Horvath who's star college football experience will be but a footnote in an otherwise illustrious Naval career serving his country. Horvath is at USNA studying Naval Weapons systems, advanced math, chemistry, electrical engineering and other critical subjects and preparing himself to be a leader capable of taking others into Harm's Way effectively. Or my classmate, David Robinson, who led a dysfunctional NBA team to a championship, got into the Hall of Fame and has since founded a successful private Christian school in South Texas among other community building projects. What are Pavia and Mendoza studying -- leisure management? Will they ever serve anyone but themselves? Doubtful. If the Heisman is to mean anything (to me, it doesn't), it should look at the whole person, not just how well they played a game. This kid pretty well illustrates why I have no interest in collegiate sports other than the Army Navy game.

The Black Knights end their 2025 season with a 7-6 winning record.
NAVY's 10-2 winning season, including the 13 December win over ARMY, brings the Midshipmen to the Liberty Bowl v. Cincinnati on Friday 2 January. Looking forward to the game!

It reminds me of the words we Midshipman sang to the Army fight song:
Weeeeeeeeeeee don't play Notre Dame .....
Weeeeeeeeeee don't play Tulay ay ay ane ...
Weeeeeeeeeee just play Holy Cross ....
'Cause that's the fearless Army Way!
Go Navy! Beat Cincy!

Pro football and basketball teams use colleges as their supply pipeline, and pretend they're "amateurs". The whole game of charades is based on a big lie! Jerry
