Is the front fender extension show in the attached photo supposed to be painted black or body color? I’ve seen both and want to do it correctly. Thanks in advance for your expertise.

I've seen them both ways, but I think it looks better when it is painted the same as the hood and body.

Check out the 1946 Chevrolet truck data PDF from the GM Heritage Center files.

There are 2 pages towards the beginning of this file (screenshots below) titled "Truck Exterior Color Combinations" that layout the paint and trim paint details down to specific pieces and body panels. If I'm reading this correctly, the front fender extension should be the main body color, whichever that may be. wink
