I have a '46 1/2 converted to 12v with a '57 235.
Everything else is stock. I need to connect the '46 radiator to the '57 235. The thermostat is identical for both years, but which hoses do I use -- '46 or '57? Also, what pressure radiator cap do I use -- 0, 4, or 7 lbs.?

hi stevrolet46, welcome to the garage!! if you've got the original 46 radiator, prolly shouldn't have a pressure cap, cuz they didn't have - the 57 235 would've had a 7#, and if you've recored the rad or replaced it w/ new, then it prolly could handle 4# anyway - as far as hoses, use what ever fits between the 2

sounds like a truck I'd enjoy, got any pics of it up anyplace? we like pics!! grin

stevrolet46- I have the same setup you do. I had my radiator reworked(rodded out, pluged the overflow pipe & new fillerneck) and run a 7# cap. My radiator guy said that the seams of the orig. radiator won't take any more than that. So far works fine. As for the hose from the thermostat to the radiator I used a short piece of straight hose, I think 1 1/2".

Sounds like you have a good project going there.

George
