Hello everyone I have a 55 second series 3200 with power steering 235. I put the power steering kit on last Christmas love it! I was thinking of putting disk brakes on the front. I put the dual master cyl. on it a couple years ago.

The question is has anyone on the forum done this and was there a problem with the new drag link setup with the power steering kit ?. It has not been dropped it's is still stock suspension.

Thanks for any help.

What power steering setup did you go with?

Do you have a picture of your drag link?

I did a disc conversion on my 58 amd don't imagine it would interfere, bit I am not certain what you have.

I had a power steering kit that used that type of steering arm on my daily driver '57 GMC 1/2 ton. I would not recommend it. Luckily, it happened at a dead stop, backing out of my driveway.

It also had a bad case of bump steer, which I attributed to the very short drag link.

With out pictures I am assuming you did the conversion with the power steering outside the frame and not inside in stock box location. I did my 56 3200 the power steering in the stock location(inside rail) with stock drag link.
Also ran disc brakes up front with a hydroboost setup on frame rail. Drives fine if properly aligned. (really bad if not aligned) I also added a front sway bar as well. Drives fine but some bump steer due to it still being a straight axle and you hit a large pot hole. there is more play in the steering wheel than I would like but that I believe is related to the steering box itself and the rag joint and the larger steering wheel all adding up a small amount of play. .
