The procedure includes staking the brass rings into the housing to secure them. I have had that era syncro assemblies rebuilt by Anaheim Gear in Anaheim, CA. Fred

However you need to look at the synchro. 1952 and earlier used a 2 lug syncho, 53 and 54 used a 4 lug synchry and 55 and up used a completely different synchro. If this is what you have the 3774720 should fit. They are getting scarce, but there are a few NOS around and some good used. 50 years ago, I replaced a lot of synchro rings, but now I would just replace the whole syncro hub. If you can't find anything, take a photo of what you have. i probably have one. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2009 Posts: 5,964 Gearhead, Stovebolt Tech and Parts Tracker, Mod for Swap Meet and GTT | | Gearhead, Stovebolt Tech and Parts Tracker, Mod for Swap Meet and GTT Joined: Sep 2009 Posts: 5,964 | Bornco - Guessing that your post is really about wanting to find a replacement for your 2-3 speed synchro? If so, we need to move the post into the Truck Parts Wanted forum as that's the proper place for such requests. Okay to move???

I am not in a position to rebuild the transmission and I don't know if my transmission guy wants to at this point.
