Hey chevy truck family. I just went through a inner wheel bearing ordeal it took me three tries to get the correct bearing on my 55 2nd series. The when I replaced it I could not get the outer washer to go in all the way the nut was just barely in far enough for one side of the cotter pin in.

Did you replace the outer race (cup) as well as the bearing cone? It's possible the cup didn't get installed deep enough to seat itself against the shoulder in the hub. I'm going to assume you're working with a tapered roller bearing, not the earlier ball bearing? The ball bearing has a shoulder on the race that the grease seal rides on.

Inner should be a B52 and outer a B01.

Did you remove the inner race? They sometimes stick to the axle at the backing plate.
