I was going to drive the 53 down, but I didn’t install the T5 yet. It’s all highway and the last time I attempted that task, it sat on a trailer the whole time so I’m trailering it down possibly Thursday.
Gonna be great to see everyone again! I know,……. Not so much for you all seeing me!

Due to a previous commitment, I won’t be able to stay overnight this year. I’ll make it during the day and evening either Friday or Saturday.

Looks like I will be there early again this year, hopefully I can get the grass cut again if it’s needed and help out Mike and John too.
Doesn’t look like the usual enthusiasm as in the past but maybe it’s just routine now😀
I look forward to seeing everyone. Oh and, burgers and hot dogs per usual.

Still trying to determine if it’s going to be Friday or Saturday for me. Going to see if my wife will join me, but…..

This evening I will be making final preparations and packing. Planning to depart tomorrow when the work fun is complete.

I just received my briefing from none other than the Camp Commandant. Camp Stovebolt is secure and he has already put down two sammiches…….

Ensure that you all put maximum effort into procurement of a "good time."

Joe R. will be filling in for me as ODSS Attorney General/Chief Prosecutor for the ODSS Disciplinary Court. Expect no mercy, miscreants.

Joe -- Do not show the least modicum of leniency to these Senior Delinquents.

Now you know that I was falsely accused of bringing rain from the Midwest to all of the ODSS questionable gatherings in years past that I attended.
You guys are jinxed from the git-go to gather together!

I do believe that the Wicked Witch of the East still exists!

You would think by now the folks that host this event would back it up a few weeks. The early weeks in September are always better than the end of the month. More often than not the end of September here in VA is full of rain, tropical events, threats of hurricane's moving up the coast ect ect ect. Hope it clears out but for down here full rain for the weekend.

Rain or shine-and I know it’s gonna be rain-I’ll be there tomorrow.

All in all not a bad weekend. The worst rain was around 5pm on Thursday and it only last about 15 minutes or so. Friday was great and the show still had over 160 trucks. Camp Stovebolt was a little smaller than it has been in the past but we figured the forecast kept some away. As for the rest of the weekend, the worst weather only amounted to some sprinkles. Those of us there (The 5-6-7 Crew) had a blast. Even after all these years, I can say per usual that I look forward to next year and hope even more will show up.
Camp was made up of me, Mike Roache, Sweet, Amtrak Joe, Mr. Schmidt (with a "D"), and Artie. We had guest appearances from Mike B, George Van Orden, Victor and Cosmo and Grigg. Lots of laughs, good food, a couple great (ramp) fires, and a few adult beverages including a special retirement gift bottle of Maple Whiskey straight from Canada (What? No way!). I owe someone a dozen eggs and Sweet two containers of potato salad. and some sammiches.

Had a short but wonderful visit with the Winchester ODSS Stovebolt Brotherhood! Grigg and I left before the free boxes of Dude Wipes were distributed.

Great time this weekend! Tri-State has always been a must-go event. Yes it will rain, but that has become part of the fun. It was great to spend time with some of my favorite people.

Now, I will say that the venue is getting a little long in the tooth. Some upgrades to the facility (or repairs) are in order!

Glad everyone made it home without incident and we are anxiously waiting on the Dude Wipe report from Mr. Schmidt........

Did someone say Dude Wipes ? Great time was had by all. Good food, cold beer, friends and trucks. Guest appearances really brought it all together.

Sorry that I couldn't make it. I had a 90th birthday party to attend in Southern Illinois. My wife's dad. He's as sharp as ever. He keeps me on my toes when we carry on the typical in-law banter back and forth.
I drove Sweet Pea all the way out there and all the way back without a hitch! Put about 2,000 miles on her.
I thought a lot about you fellers while I was out there. Hope to see y'all soon.
