Fred, No, it is still there just that my picture server is temp. down so the pics don't show. As far as pics go- I don't have a problem (nor do I think that Sir John has one) if they are quick pics and you change them to links in a few days. I think the pics give the board more "body".

That engine turned out to be "toast". All push rods were bent, Three pistons (0.60 over) were toast, minor scoring on the cylinders, crank was 0.20 under and way to much taper in the cylinders. I really don't know how it could even run. What I think took place is somebody milled the head or decked the block and didn't get the shorter push rods, used parts from another engine because they had $1 in #3,- #3 in #1- a #2 in #5,- #'s 4 and 6 backwards. As you can see it was a nightmare.

Got another short block in superb condition from fellow Stovebolter Mechainiac. Almost felt bad taking it apart it was so nice inside. No wear on the cylinders, could still see the cross-hatching. This won't be a hot rod motor- just a simple rebuild for the fellow- but it will last him a life-time.

I must be losing it. After I responded to the thread the counter still showed zero replies, then last night it was gone. This morning it's there and working. :confused: Anyhow, good to hear you have a different block, I was suggesting crank & cam runout checks, but your job is a lot better with a different engine. I have never seen pistons that bad without a block being destroyed.
