Now that I have made it to the right group, I hope y’all can tell me what the throttle knob/cable below the choke is for? I have been told a number of things, like it’s for recent the PTO for a dump truck, but this has never been a dump truck.

Thanks!

The throttle cable on all AD series truck is just that. It's a manual control for the throttle on the carburetor. You can use it to increase the engine speed while stopped for warm up, or I suppose you could use it as a rough cruise control, although I wouldn't recommend the latter.

You should go into your profile and set up a signature that will show up on all your posts.I had to go to your previous posts to find out you have a 1949 1-Ton.
It should include your truck info (year, size, etc.) and anything else you think is relevant.
To do that, click on your username on the upper right of this page, (or any page when you're logged in) and select "edit profile."

If you're smart enough to take it apart, you darn well better be smart enough to put it back together.

Will do. I tried to set up a signature after I was approved and it said that I had used 50 characters of zero unavailable characters. I didn’t know what the world I was doing wrong, and technology is not exactly my friend. I will give it another try right now if you don’t see it, you’ll know I failed lol

Ok, I think that did it. I got an entirely different response this time. My account might not have been completely set up yet? So basically on the throttle cable, for how I will be using my truck, it’s just not needed. I see it’s hooked up to the carburetor, but the knob has fallen off inside. I bought a new cable for it, but since I don’t think I’ll be using it, I think I’ll pass on replacing it for now. Maybe I’ll just get the old knob to go back on.
