Can someone out there tell me what's your experience with Polished Bed Strips or Angles hold up to environment hot / cold? I recognize ideally stainless steel is best.
If you're going to use your truck as intended, buy steel ones and paint them like General Motors did when it was new.
If you're installing a bed that looks like a dining room table, what difference does it make? You're not going to be driving in the rain or scratching them up with cargo.

I’m kinda of the opposite opinion. If you use the truck and drive in the rain then stainless is the way to go. If it’s a museum piece then painted steel is fine. The op asked for opinions based on experience. Polished stainless strips in my truck, looks good after 10 years and 50k miles, rain or shine.
I went with stainless bed strips and they've held up really well. My truck has seen heavy rain multiple times, even snow and the bed is often used/loaded up.
The oak bed wood gets beat up and requires a quick sanding/staining but the stainless strips are pretty low maintenance.
Stainless strips in my bed 25 years old. Strips still look new. No heavy usage.
