I have a 57 base model 3100 pickup with the white painted grille and bumpers. I haven't been able to locate the information for the correct wheel color. Black? White? I've seen both while looking at old photos of stock trucks. This seems like an easy one but I've struck out. Thanks!
Pinetree - Here are a couple of original 1957 Task Force Line brochures. One shows all the trucks with just black wheels while the other shows a mix of black and body color. Also included below is the only reference I could find on the wheel colors from the GM Heritage Center 1957 Truck data PDF.
You described your truck as a base model 1957 3100, with no mention of single or two-tone body colors. Just IMHO, but I think you would be right to choose either the jet black or match your body color as you think best fits how you want your truck to look. It is your truck, so make yourself happy!

My truck is single tone green. The only truck with white wheels that I've seen is one passing by in the background of an old movie. Hardly an official source of documentation! I also have a batch of 39 wheels to paint so black is the easier choice too. I appreciate the info!
