Good day. I am looking for anyone who has installed the CPP drum/drum dual master cylinder kit (or similar) in a
Task Force era truck who can tell me how they dealt with the stock brake pedal and the part where you no longer have the eccentric bolt to set firewall clearance.
The CPP instructions say to set the pedal arm as high as possible without preloading the M/C. With the big return spring installed, the pedal arm wants to hit the firewall.
I did put a rubber spacer around where the pedal shaft meets the arm, but now I think that doesn’t give me enough piston travel in the M/C.
The push rod only moves into the M/C about 1/2”
and although the brake pedal is firm, the brakes don’t feel as though they’re doing much.
Thank you for any suggestions.
Larry
