The pics look a little scary if you came to a quick stop!

Using my 49 today to bring a bunch of stuff down to a local spring market and its backdrop for our table which includes a 4H display.

Picked up a set of granite steps for the front house entry redo, 40 minute drive mostly freeway, truck rides smooth with the added weight

Our town's annual celebration is always on Father's Day weekend. This year our daughter and son-in-law drove the '47 in the parade on Sunday. Not exactly "truck type" work, but we got to play with it and show it off.

The reason I didn't drive it myself was that I was driving one of my tractors!

I love these small town parades. Seems like everyone comes out to enjoy the day. Our yearly 4th of July parade seems to get more and more crowded every year, and harder to enjoy.

It's a 1954 Minneapolis Moline UB. My Dad bought it when it was only a few years old, and it's been in our family ever since. Growing up, I spent many hours in that seat! (Well, not THAT seat--the original one gave out many years ago and was replaced with the one that's on it now.)

Doughboy was a bread truck in Baltimore in its first life. I don’t deliver bread with it, but I do use it!

Picked up some vintage wood beams in the 59 Napco recently. It took three of us to load the beams. Once loaded the truck did great and I couldn't even feel them back there.Then stopped off at the Texas Tavern for a Cheesy. If you know, ya know!

I'll bet the chili has beans! "Texas" chili does not.

it is noteworthy how much smoother these trucks ride when they're loaded.

Thanks Mike! I have made it a point to have each of my vintage vehicles there for a photo op.

I drove JW around quite a bit….errand-running both Saturday and Sunday. Once again, failed to take a single picture.

Truck ran great and stayed cool in some very hot weather. Wing windows kept me relatively comfortable whilst moving.

Oddly, none of the truck’s known issues have self-healed. Motor mounts are still shot. Seem to have developed a new oil leak. I think it’s probably side cover but need to investigate further.

I would love to see a "Self Healing" motor mount...

She is ready to celebrate our 249th Year of 4th of July.

Yep. Up in the North Georgia mountains this past Spring. Last March I passed my 40th year of ownership - bought in 1985.

This was my dad's 1951 GMC 3/4 ton. Always been a work truck.

I built a split rail fence in front of Rancho Relaxo about 9 years ago but didn't have enough rails to continue it in the adjacent field.

Last weekend I scavenged some rails from a fallen down fence on the side of a road near my parents' house. I was able to construct about 100 feet across the front of the field but still have about 50 feet to go.

The fence is resting on cobblestones I salvaged years ago when an area off Highland Ave in Atlanta was being redeveloped. They were just bulldozed into a pile to be taken to a landfill.

Used it to haul tires and wheels to the tire shop.

Just guessing, but that was probably at a more sedate pace than your recent outing with the truck?

Drive was definitely more on the mellow side.

Old Bessie handled the load with style and grace. All the thumbs up at Home Desperate were cool too. There are not enough O's in smooooth to describe the ride home with that load.

Transporting used oil to the recyclers. Only seamed fair to use the truck since most of the old oils from it.

It was a pretty day, not too hot or humid up here in the highlands. Ran errands in Ole Charlie today. On the way home, stopped by the barn and picked up Peggy's new credenza to take it to the shop. Well .... It might look like a bunch of reclaimed barn oak, but in a month or so ... hopefully ...

And hopefully I'll find all the screws before the planer does ...

Good to see you John and I'll look forward to more news on Peggy's "new credenza" in the Workshop "Tinkering..." thread. I'm sure Charlie enjoyed the errands run as much as you did. Nice looking lumber.
