My local Napa is selling it for $6.29/qt = $37.74/case, but unlike Amazon, it's not delivered which to a reminder that Amazon will not ship oil to just anyone, like me.

Craig, that's interesting. Must be a California thing. I've had Amazon ship two cases of VR-1 to me in Alaska. They have a LOOOONG list of stuff they won't ship to me, but oil isn't one of them. ohwell

On my Amazon I'm seeing it for $38.25. Still went ahead and ordered another case just to see if I get another thumbs down from Amazon.

Amazon wouldn’t deliver to California. Bought at NAPA for a bit more and they delivered.

Well Jon G, Amazon surprised the heck out of me by delivering a case of oil to me today. Can't understand why they did it now versus before. But, I'm not going to complain. Thanks for starting this thread

Not to start another oil thread, but are most of you guys still running the Rotella 15W-40 (Dino) I switched a few years back, and I can always find a good deal on it somewhere...

I guess $6/qt is cheap for that oil.

I bought a bunch of closeout 10w-30 and 10w-40 at Sam's Club for $1.75/qt. I bought 12 cases.

Otto, I would not buy 12 cases of anything because I might not live long enough to use it all. Good luck to you.

At the risk of starting another motor oil thread: Regarding motor oil formulated for Diesel engines like DELO, T-3 and T-4, according to Lake Speed, the motor oil geek, especially Rotella has high calcium as a soot dispersent and this competes with the ZDDP for the spaces between surfaces such as cam and lifter facings and causes increased wear as compared with formulations such as VR-1. DELO is better as it has less calcium but is still problematic. He says SAE specs ending in P or Q now have a formulation suitable for our old flat-tappet engines. I have run Valvoline VR-1 forever then switched to DELO cause I got it for free but I no longer do, S

Haha!

I have a lot of cars under my care so that oil will be used up in just a few years.
