If you have to replace your tie rod ends and get the new replacement like these, 47-59
Plan on replacing the tightening bolts. To keep the steering rod so that the tie rods are rotating together.
The force needed to clamp down 3x`s now destroyed the bolt threads. Just inferior thread strength.

I have a friend (perfectionist and machinist) who removed his tie rod, bored out a nut big enough to be a slip fit onto the tie rod and welded it onto the tie rod near the driver's end. That way you can use an open end wrench while adjusting toe in/out instead of leaving teeth marks from a pipe wrench/channel lock pliers on the tie rod.


'57 GMC 102, Original 347 V8, HydraMatic, 3.08 rear gear, added A/C, disk front brakes, HEI, AFB carb, '98 Honda Black Currant paint. T-boned and totaled 10/12
'52 GMC 152 Stake Bed, Original 228, SM420, added A/C, HEI, disk front brakes, '67 Chev 3.55 rear gear. Gets used as a real truck.

That would solve it. Its bad enough the nut and bolt are 17mm.
