Had to look up the T.V.A. here's a summary:

"The TVA, or Tennessee Valley Authority, was a major New Deal project in the 1930s designed to improve the social and economic lives of people in the Tennessee River Valley. It aimed to address issues like poverty, flooding, and lack of electricity by implementing a unified plan for the river system. This involved building a series of hydroelectric dams, improving navigation, controlling floods, and providing electricity to homes and businesses."
