Does anybody know anything about Q-T valve lash adjusting screws ?

I bought a set on EBay and they work fine in my 235.

I replaced them with standard screws as I was concerned about the small spring loaded ball ending up in the engine.
I can’t find anything out about them other than there’s some NOS on EBay and they may have not been manufactured after 1946.

Has anyone had long term experience with them fitted?

I bought a set a couple of years ago, also from an Ebay auction. Haven't found a use for them yet. Those little springs behind the balls are getting compressed 17 times a second at 2K RPM. I wonder how long it will take for them to lose their tension?

That was my concern. Just had my engine thoroughly rebuilt for an eye watering amount.
When I installed them, they worked fine. But “WHAT IF” came to mind.

Seems to me that the stock Chevrolet setup is pretty good and works well as long as the valve/rocker geometry is good.

Those look like the adjusters on my Norton Commando motorcycle. I have worked on many of those over the years and the ball ends tend to dig into the valve-stem ends making it impossible to adjust the valves with a feeler gauge. Then one puts on a hardened lash cap.

As long as the ball on the lash adjuster is still round, the original setup does a good job- - - -just do a valve adjustment occasionally to maintain the proper clearance. If the ball on the adjuster wears and develops a high spot in the middle, replace the adjuster. That can cause the end of the pushrod to crack. Also check for wear on the rocker arm tip where it contacts the valve stem.
