retighten the head bolts to 90 lbs again 235 1960 chevy

Lol it is a question do I need to tighten head bolts again after running the engine for a coiple thousand mile after a valve job on the head. Sorry if I was to vague

Does the head gasket manufacturer recommend it? Gaskets are different than they were 50 years ago.

I bought a Fel-Pro Gasket it did not say anything about a retightening of the bolts on the packaging

It was not a copper gasket with a soft material in the middle

The Felpro Permatorque gaskets do not need to be retorqued.

Retorquing won't hurt anything regardless of gasket type. While I am not anal retentive, I always retorque head bolts and manifold bolts after the first run up to operating temperature. It's more superstition than anything, even though I am not superstitious, except for the numero ocho, which I refuse to recognize or utter in English.
