You can still buy the 3600 fuel tank from LMC for the 53.
Why wouldn't that work in a 47-48?

Elmo - Which LMC tank are you referring to please? headscratch For the reproduction between the frame rail tanks for AD series trucks for the 1947-48 pickups and 1947-55.1 Suburbans and Panel trucks, the ads I've seen all (except LMC) indicate they are for 1/2 ton trucks only.

Gdads51 I was referring to the gas tank that mounts in the cab not under the bed.

The height of the 3/4 ton frame rail is less than the height of the 1/2 ton frame rail. The tank mounts fit into the frame rail. I tried to mount a 1/2 ton tank to my 3/4 ton truck. Don't fit.
